Incident Location

The knife attack occurred outside the Bullring shopping centre, opposite primary access point of New Street railway station.

Police said they were treating it as "unprovoked attack" with investigators stating efforts continue to determine the motive behind.

Witness Accounts

Shalini Doal, employed in the vicinity, described the emergency response when she finished her shift around 10 PM Friday night.

She characterized the location as extremely disorderly, and said co-workers reported hearing a commotion at about 21:00.

"Many my colleagues use transit services, take the tram... our security is compromised essentially, in the downtown area."

Another individual, 25, from Stoke-on-Trent, mentioned visiting the city quite frequently to see his girlfriend resident there, expressing concern regarding the incident.

"It causes concern for my girlfriend," he stated.

"She lacks transportation employed at major concert locations... and to think something completely unprovoked [happened], understandably, it's terrible."
