Los Merengues forward Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to fans for his conduct when replaced in the recent intense Clasico clash triumph.

Vinicius was replaced in the second half and showed his frustration by walking immediately down the tunnel.

He later returned to the bench and, after his club's narrow triumph, sought to engage Barcelona's Lamine Yamal during unpleasant final whistle incidents.

"This day I want to express regret to all the supporters for my behavior when I was substituted in the Clasico," the player posted on X.

"In the same way as I have said in person during the latest training, I wish to express regret anew to my teammates, the organization, and the club president.

"Occasionally fervor takes over me because I continuously aim to triumph and assist my side. My determined nature comes from the passion I hold for this team and all it stands for."

The player moved to the Spanish capital from Brazil in recent years for millions and has accumulated triple figures in numerous matches.

But his prospects in the La Liga is far from certain with rumors in lately suggesting that Real would contemplate allowing the 25-year-old depart if they obtained a appropriate bid.

When he was taken off on Sunday, broadcast footage from coverage provider Dazn recorded him stating: "Always me! I'm leaving the team! It's better if I depart, I'm leaving."

In his latest post on X, the athlete commented: "I commit to keep battling constantly for the good of the club, as I have done since the very beginning."
